| 4 | VOLTHA, up until the 2.8 release had a tight development and release schedule of 3 months. |
| 5 | Starting June 2021 operates on a 6 months release schedule, with a Long Term Support release every 18 months. |
| 6 | Long Term Support means that throughout the lifetime of a release there is a commitment to update, |
| 7 | patch and maintain the software. |

| 9 | VOLTHA process for releases is as follows: |

| 11 | - each LTS release has an 18 months support period with bug fixes and testing. |
| 12 | - LTS releases are 18 months apart. |
| 13 | - VOLTHA has 6 month release cycles. |
| 14 | - Two interim releases between LTS versions. |
| 15 | - Bugfixes will be back ported to LTS (if applicable) from master and interim release. |
